2013 Bay Area Maker Faire

It's nearly that time of year! I'll be showcasing FLOWERCLOUDS lasercut textiles this year at the Maker Faire instead of flameworked glass. I'll even be presenting onstage! You can find me in The Yard/ North/ booth TY46. See you in San Mateo May 18th and 19th!

MAKER FAIRE!

I'll be exhibiting again at the Bay Area Maker Faire on May 19th and 20th. This will be my tenth Maker Faire! (Six in the Bay, two in New York, one in Austin, and one in Rhode Island!)
If you're able to go, DO!

World Maker Faire in NYC

The World Maker Faire will be taking place next weekend, September 17th and 18th, at the New York Hall of Science. I will be demonstrating glass torchwork with my oxygen/ propane torch set-up as well as with the Hothead torch, and I'll be bringing my little kiln with me from Rhode Island!

It's not easy to describe something as immense and diverse as the Maker Faire, but this video does a great job of beginning to explain it.

Maker Faire in San Mateo

Project photo.
Hello from California!
It seems colder here than in Rhode Island right now, but I'm very much looking forward to the Maker Faire in San Mateo next weekend! I'll be demonstrating glass torchwork, as usual. It's open to the public May 21st and 22nd, and I think it will be the biggest Maker Faire yet, the largest contemporary DIY convergence in the world!

Please come out and say hi!

World Maker Faire!

I will be demonstrating glass torchwork with a portable setup at the Maker Faire this month. It's the largest DIY (do it yourself) convergence in the world. If you've never been, it is amazing. If you have been, you already know!

Handmade Shoes

Look at these shoes! I made the uppers from hand- quilted sweatshirts, the mid-soles were pipe insulation foam, and the soles were wide mountain bike tires.
Here is a link to an article with photos of the tops of these shoes.
