Still going

I am currently 42% done screenprinting something for RISD graduation. (It was designed by graduating student Alex Cohen.) Thanks so far to Mike McLoughlin, Aimee Fiest, Jeremy Radtke, and Christine Spanedda for great help, and to Don Morton for the work.

Also, have you seen that Martha Stewart video yet? It happened in late October but they just redesigned their website so you can now load the video before watching so it plays without pausing. (I was on the Martha Stewart Show for the Maker Faire episode. I demonstrated glass torchwork (while all made up for HDTV!))

Screenprinting

The next few days will be non-stop work: a really big and rushed screenprinting job!

Omni- color braid

This is Melanie Dawn Harter, and here is the original source of her content. (Thanks for the info, snowskinmooncakes!) I know it doesn't show every color (omni), but it's more hues and shades than I think I've ever seen in a solitary hairstyle.

Returned!

The bees are buzzing, the chickens are clucking, and the warm sunlight is flowing through the negative spaces of the leaves here in Olneyville. Providence is warmer than Oakland, and my bike wheels are traveling the shorter roads of this small city and those nearby. Up next: new studio to teach in, working on the children's book, pursuing offered opportunities. This was my "best" Maker Faire yet-- the busiest (and quickest), and very rewarding in several distinct ways.

I got this visor at Koreana Plaza in Oakland. I'm still trying to figure out if it keeps sun off my face, or if it's actually intensifying a tan.

It's not easy to describe something as immense and diverse as the Maker Faire, but this video does a great job of beginning to explain it.

Maker Faire in San Mateo

Project photo.
Hello from California!
It seems colder here than in Rhode Island right now, but I'm very much looking forward to the Maker Faire in San Mateo next weekend! I'll be demonstrating glass torchwork, as usual. It's open to the public May 21st and 22nd, and I think it will be the biggest Maker Faire yet, the largest contemporary DIY convergence in the world!

Please come out and say hi!
